New Law. New Workplace Considerations.
➡️U.S. EEO laws prohibit discrimination on the basis of stated characteristics in terms and conditions of employment. State EEO laws have been progressive on including sexual orientation and gender identity.
➡️The good news today, the Supreme Court ruled on gay and transgender issues (June 15th)
➡️Focus on inclusion for everyone at work. Do you have a transgender transition policy or program? Our recommendation is removing pronouns from your handbook (him/her/she) and replacing those pronouns with more gender-neutral terms. One of your employees may identify as nonbinary and this may include a person who is transgender, gender fluid, between gender or third gender.
