Today, 75% of younger workers want workplace flexibility. Remote workers are 60% more productive, however, we need to select employees who can navigate this work environment and train managers about the possible performance issues with virtual teams.

Why the "Big Blur"?

🕔As the working days become longer, technology has dissolved many of the boundaries between home & work and e,employees are expected to be more self-sufficient and productive than ever before.

  1. 😞The downside of technology and 24/7 access is employee burnout. SHRM (2015) warns “Along with FLSA compliance, employers should be mindful that remote work can be viewed as a reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)/ ADA Amendments Act..."Do you have a policy about "connectivity" to make sure people don't get burned out?

Helpful Tip:

1) When managing your virtual teams, build in collaboration time with tools like Slack/ Trello.

2) Schedule 1:1 weekly check-ins to connect on goals and projects.

3) Set up & encourage Employee Resource & Peer Learning Groups.
